"What I want is that my picture should evoke nothing but emotion" -Picasso
Oils
I started by painting mountains because I love to climb and painting expresses some of my yearning. The deeper reason was because mountains stand for strength, beauty and peace and those were and still are valuable to me. I then came across Van Gogh's letters to Theo and was very struck by his analysis of painting and I realized that the subject matter may not be as important as I had thought earlier. It is the thought and the passion behind the painting that move the viewer. I am still very far from being able to paint in an effective manner, but I think I am on the correct path. Here is some of my work.
